# Short interest and short volume

How heavily a stock is sold short, from FINRA's own publications: short interest at each twice-monthly settlement (with days to cover), and each day's off-exchange short volume as a share of all volume. Newest first.

Each call counts against your allowance.

## Parameters

| Name | In | Type | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `symbol` (required) | path | ticker | Stock ticker, like AAPL. |
| `settlements` | query | whole number, 1–60 | How many short-interest settlements (12 is about six months). Leave it out for `12`. |
| `days` | query | whole number, 1–120 | How many days of short volume. Leave it out for `30`. |
