# Calls and limits

> Your monthly allowance of calls, which calls count, and the speed limit.

## Your allowance

- A membership comes with an allowance of calls each month, by the Eastern calendar. A free trial has a smaller one for the whole trial. Both are on [Account › API](https://wiseview.ai/manage/account/api).
- Calls come out of the API’s own allowance, not out of your AI credits.
- A call is counted before it runs, and given back if it fails or finds nothing.
- Not counted: [Your calls](https://wiseview.ai/docs/api/me-usage).

## Seeing what is left

- **WiseView-Calls-Limit** — Your allowance.
- **WiseView-Calls-Left** — What is left of it.
- **WiseView-Calls-Refill** — The day it refills, as YYYY-MM-DD — members only; a trial’s allowance does not refill.
- **RateLimit-*** — The speed limit: how many calls a minute, how many are left, and when the minute resets.

Every answer carries these headers, so a script can slow down before it is refused.

## The speed limit

Calls are limited per minute, for you across all your keys, with a lower limit during a trial. A call over it is refused with status 429, and so is a call once the allowance is used up.
