The biggest S&P 500 moves
AppLovin led gainers, up 31.04%, after posting quarterly results that beat expectations with guidance that also topped forecasts, Bloomberg and Investor's Business Daily reported. Tapestry rose 7.07% after its first-quarter results and raised full-year outlook exceeded Wall Street expectations, Bloomberg and Business Wire said. Verisk Analytics, Corpay and CF Industries also moved higher, with Benzinga noting CF Industries climbed on stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings.
On the downside, Sandisk fell 22.26% as investors pulled back from artificial-intelligence-linked semiconductor and memory stocks following the midterm elections, Benzinga reported. Lumentum Holdings dropped 18.68%. Micron Technology declined 17.46%, which Investor's Business Daily linked to ripple effects from memory-chip shortages that have pressured margins across the technology sector. Western Digital and Advanced Micro Devices each fell more than 17%, with Benzinga noting broader weakness tied to the same memory and AI-chip pullback.
