Alerts and notifications
Price alerts, the Congress and insider digests, trade activity, and how each reaches you.
Price alerts
A price alert is a rule you write: tell me when NVDA goes above $200, or below $180. Make one in the AL panel (Alerts), from any ticker’s menu (Set price alert) or by right-clicking a chart at the price you want. Each can carry a short note.
WiseView checks every minute from 4 AM to 9 PM Eastern on weekdays, against each minute’s full range — so a spike through your level counts even when nobody was watching, and a late check settles it the same way.
Fire outside market hours (on unless you turn it off, under Settings in the Alerts panel and in Account › Alerts) decides whether pre-market and after-hours prices count. It is separate from the EXT switch, so looking at the close never changes when you get woken up.
When one fires
- It shows in the terminal straight away, and the bell’s top row counts the alerts that have fired and are not yet cleared.
- It emails you too when you ticked Also email me when it triggers on that alert, and your account’s email is on.
- It pops up in your browser when you switched that on in the Alerts panel.
- Mark as seen keeps the alert and clears the count; Re-arm sets it watching again; Delete removes it.
Congress trades
Congress alerts arrive as one digest each weekday at 5:30 PM Eastern — never one at a time. It covers the members of Congress you follow, the names on your watchlists and, if you turn it on, several members buying the same stock.
A member of Congress discloses a trade days or weeks after making it, so the digest reports new filings, not trades as they happen.
Insider trades
Each weekday evening, after 6:30 PM Eastern, WiseView reads the day’s new insider filings (SEC Form 4) for the names on your watchlists and sends what it found as one message. An open-market purchase — an insider spending their own money — is called out on its own.
Trade activity
When a trade plan you accepted fills, stops out or reaches a target, it arrives in the bell and shows in the trade strip under the header.
Choosing what reaches you
Account › Alerts sets what reaches you and by which route — in the terminal, by email, or as a browser pop-up: trading, price alerts, watchlists, Congress, and the other emails such as the pre-market morning brief.
Price alerts made during a free trial pause when it ends: they stop firing and you can still see and delete them. Join and they pick up again.
