The squawk
Headlines read aloud on your desk: what it reads, how to filter it, and what it costs.
What it is
The squawk reads the market’s important headlines aloud while you work. Where it is switched on, a speaker button sits in the header beside the bell; it is switched on or off for each device, and what it reads follows your account.
A headline is read once it reaches WiseView, a few minutes after it is published — never instantly.
Choosing what it reads
- Whose news
- Market-wide, your names and the market, or your names alone — your watchlists, the tickers on your desk and any you add.
- How big
- Only the biggest, Important, or More for my names.
- When
- Pre-market, the session and after hours, each on or off.
- And
- Topics, words it must never read, and a chime before each headline.
The free plan hears market-wide news only.
What you missed
- Today lists every headline your filter would have read since 4 AM Eastern, marked heard or not, each playable on its own.
- Catch me up reads the biggest few you missed since this device last listened.
- A browser plays no sound until you click the page, so after a reload the squawk waits for a click, and the browser tab says so.
What it costs
A day of the squawk costs AI credits, charged once per Eastern day and only on a day its voice actually reads to you; the price is in your credits panel while it is on. When a day’s new clips run out it carries on in your device’s own voice, and a day read only in that voice costs nothing.
